Morning I don't know if these pics of James Monroe are sharp enough. It's the best I got for now. In God, the letters look bigger or deeper with a hint of error. The date looks the same. Matter of fact half the coin looks same way. Some damage some not.  Tnks

Edge Lettering is added to the Presidential Business Strike coins after they have been minted. They are sent through a roll and press machine that presses the lettering into the edges. As there can be slight variations in pressure, you may find some that are pressed deeper than others and some that look almost worn off. The only edge lettering varieties with value are ones where the coin has plain edges from not going through the machine or ones with doubled lettering from going through the machine twice. These are the ones to be looking for.
