PF vs. MS 1953 Panama 0

How do I tell the difference between a proof and an MS? Is it the same concept as US proof? I realize it's unlikely the coin below is a proof. But, you never know!

I could not find a picture of a 1953 Proof, but looking at a picture of a 1962 Proof 1/2 Balboa, it appears to be very much like a US proof coin - polished fields and frosted devices. That, and the fact that your coin would have to be one of only 5 estimated examples in proof, gives me reason to suspect that your coin is a business strike.

It does not look like a Proof to me, either.

Strike is not strong enough, details not struck up enough, edge not sharp and crisp. I have only an OMS proof 1953 Centimo.
