Looks like it was plated. Not even sure if it is genuine, maybe one of our IH experts can determine that

If it is genuine, then it was done after the coin was minted so it would be PMD.

It could be a normal copper-nickel cent, since brass will take on that color when cleaned.

You wouldn't really expect a coin made of coppernickel and twice as thick to sound like a bronze cent when it is dropped.
