Hello, I was hoping someone could give me an idea of the medal I have pictured? I found some other close examples on researching it but nothing about specific dates or regions or purpose. Thanks in advance.

The letters on woman's side read  "Yang Guifei"   and the other side reads like  "One of the four famous beauties from ancient China"

I don't know when and who made the medal, though.

She's a looker alright ....

toyonakataro nailed the description.

They are a Chinese made "Fantasy Dollar" that is one of a set of four produced in China starting in the 1960's. They are not silver and were mass produced. I have seen them on ebay selling for around a Dollar or two.

There are also some awful looking knock-offs being made now that only resemble the original. (assuming that the OP's medal is an original)
