Maybe water related stain...chemical etching and electronic playing... I used to keep ones like that...

To me, it looks like it sat in a puddle of water with gasoline in it for a while.  I've seen many cents that have that kind of rainbow effect on them from the exposure to the water and gasoline.  That's my vote on the issue.

Never seen a copper clad coin do that so it has to be heat one side or chemical damage

I do not believe this is a natural occurance
