1882 Shielded Nickel

2 posts in this topic

I have been looking over my 1882 Shielded Nickel,  I noticed that some of the images on the PCGS website for the varies grades show the underlined C and other coins do not have the additional image.  It appears that some of the coins were stuck with a deformed die.  I was wondering if this would be considered as a error?? Or doesn't has any significant meaning.   I have attached a few photos let me know what your thoughts.

Shield Nickels reveal numerous flaws in their hubs which translated to incomplete letters on the dies and the coins struck from them. A few varieties are collectible, but they don't bring much of a premium.
