Astronaut Alan Shepard Historic Apollo Mission

3 posts in this topic

A beautiful 25 cent coin depicting this most historic event of Alan Shepard on one of his most famous Apollo missions to space. Nice die crack running down his leg and off the tip of his boot.. Alan's space suit must of had a hole in it..  http://www.spacesafetymagazine.com/spaceflight/life-in-orbit/alan-shepard-pee-pants/

Alan Shepard was lucky that that flight was only a sub-orbital flight.

Such an incredible life he lived. (he'd be 94 if he were still alive; died in 1998, age 74)

Just to become an astronaut is against all odds, but to have been the First American in Space and also one of the 12 astronauts who have actually walked on the Moon — and no one has been back there since December 1972 — is, dare I say it, Astronomical!  lol
