Re-Holdering?

5 posts in this topic

If I send in slabs that are scratched, chipped, marred, etc to be Re-holdered, will the coin still receive the same grade/attribution as current label? Happy with existing grade/attribution, just would like newer slabs.

Thank you.  The cost to re-holder would be $10 per coin plus return shipping and insurance as long as the coins are valued $10,000 or less per coin.  The grade would stay the same.  In order to submit this yourself, you would need to become a paid member or you could have an authorized NGC Dealer submit this for you.

Thank you,

Lisa

As per our guarantee,

Coins made of copper, bronze and brass or are copper-plated can change over time. Accordingly, with regard to copper, bronze, brass or copper-plated Coins graded by NGC, the grade portion of the NGC Guarantee will no longer apply after the 10-year anniversary of their date of encapsulation by NGC. The expiration date of the grade portion of the NGC Guarantee can be found by entering the Coin’s certification number in the Verify NGC Certification section of the NGC website or by contacting NGC Customer Service
