1945 Wheat Penny - Silver???

4 posts in this topic

About a year ago i stumbled upon this in a parking lot. I forgot I had it until recently. I'm not even sure if this is a real penny, and from the looks of it, it was drilled into to put on a necklace of some sorts. I know this likely isn't silver but the coloring is odd. Any information or theories would be appreciated!

It's plated (Zn would be my guess) and drilled, thus a badly damaged coin. It's worth a penny or its metal value, whichever is greater.
