What is this?It's about 2" sq, and 1/4" thick. Made of metal. The front is same size as $5 dollar 7/8"  and      back is larger 1 1/8"  Very nicely engraved . please help. daveyG

Thank you for your post. This may be a modern replica of the 1839-D half eagle which would not have been struck at the mint. We do not know the metal type by looking at the pictures but it may be a base metal that has been brass-plated.
