ICG Coins

2 posts in this topic

I recently submitted two old coins to NGC that were graded and encapsulated by ICG.  Coin number one was 1874 CC Trade Dollar ICG Grade EF 40.  Coin number two was 1875 CC Trade Dollar ICG Grade AU 53.

Coin Number One came back NGC XF Details Cleaned.  Coin Number TWO came back NGC AU Details Cleaned.  No where on the ICG slabs did it say "Cleaned".  The slabs did not look to be tampered with and NGC has no alluded to that fact.

Is it worth a 'second' opinion on the matter or should I just suck it up?  Thanks very much for any info given.

Thank you for your question. We would be more than happy to look at the coins again but please note that the full grading fees will apply. We have multiple experts evaluate each coin to provide the most accurate and consistent grading. It may be beneficial to bring the coins to a few local dealers or a local coin show to compare them to others as a way to understand the NGC grading concepts.
