1900 Indiana penny

EF-AU sharpness, but harshly cleaned, which is sadly ruined the coin. Some of the marks on the piece might be from the cleaning.

This piece points out why you should never clean your coins. You should even be careful when it comes to dipping your coins. Although some might disagree, dipping seldom works on copper coins. It is only really of use with a limited number of Choice AU or Mint State silver pieces.

Thank you, coin was given to me. I’m still learning. I will only buy graded coins until I understand raw conditions.

You are starting with the right attitude. Learn all you can, and look at LOTS of coins, both graded and raw. The more knowledge and  experience that you have, the less likely you are to make a purchase that you will regret later.
