I HAVE A 1943 STEELE PENNY THAT WEIGHS 2.8 GRAMS AND IS A LOT DARKER THAN MY OTHER 43 STEELE IT LOOKS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE RECENTLY CERTIFIED EXPERIMENTAL 43 STEELE COATED IN IRON ANATOMY AND ZINC

The weight is normal for the steel cent, the dark color comes from the oxidation of the zinc and steel.  The coin is showing environmental damage from corrosion.

Well....I see the coin has some heavy corrosion on it.  My thoughts are that the light weight of the cent is caused by metal loss due to the corrosion.
