How can I tell if my Shekel is authentic?

Hi NGC community,

I'm hoping to determine whether this Shekel is authentic or counterfeit. I came across it in Montenegro, and while I knew it was probably silly, I know nothing of coins and thought it might make a nice gift for my dad (60th birthday)! 

It's rather light in weight. The seller claimed he found it on the beach when he was combing with a metal detector.

Any advice / first reactions to the photos will be of immense help. Thank you!!
