GIFs for Registry images

After a couple of recent discussions with fellow collectors, I have come to realize that animated Gifs are a fantastic way to share my coins. The moving image creates a more complete picture of the coin. 

The registry will currently accept gifs for upload, but it will only display a still picture - the animation is stripped out. 

Is there a way to upload the animated gif to the registry? If not, is this something that could be added?
