NGC Oversized Slabs

I had some medals certified by our host at different times in the oversized holders. One in Oct. 2013 and one April 2017. The slabs came back in different sizes.  When did NGC change the size of the oversized holders? Here is a scan of the holders. Large one is 7 1/4" x 5 7/8" and the smaller one is 6 1/2" x 4 15/16".

I'm not sure when they switched, but did it perhaps coincide with the 5 ounce ATB hockey pucks? I'm not sure exactly what size those are.

Probably when they realized they made the slab larger than necessary to accommodate the coins.

These huge slabs make storeage a problem. There is only so much room in a safe deposit box, and when the slab is way larger than the medal, it only makes matters worse.

Most of my medals are raw. When day comes to sell, I'll have to decide what do about marketing them.

Whenever this occurred, it is an excellent development. You can see from the picture how much extra room was present in the older, larger slab.
