visual difference between regular and scratch-resistant holders

Thank you for your question. It is rather difficult to see the difference when looking at the obverse or reverse of the coin in the holder. The best way to determine if a coin is in a scratch-resistant holder would be to stack a few coins of the same generation and to look at the sides of the holders. The scratch-resistant holders will have a darker blueish hue to them whereas the normal holders will be lighter and more clear. Another way to determine the difference is by feel. The S.R. holders will have a more silky smooth surface compared to the normal holders.
