Need Help From Anchient Experts: Roman Imperial Overstrike...

4 posts in this topic

RIC collectors, what is the under-type of this over-strike? It is an Antoninianus of Herennia Etruscilla over-struck on a Denarius of Gordian III, but I can't quite decide which Denarius it is. I think I have it narrowed down to either RIC 115 or RIC 127. Any thoughts, observations, or pointers as to which it could be? NGC only defines it as "Over-struck on Gordian III." (The Gordian images of RIC 115 and 127 are used with permission from Heritage).
