Q: The 73rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor is this Sunday. After the Japanese attack, new $1, $5, $10 and $20 notes were printed with a "Hawaii" overprint on the back of the note. However, one of these notes is not like the rest. What is the denomination and the difference?

Our first place winner will receive a coupon for 1 note graded under the Standard grading tier. (You must have an active account with PMG,call PMG for details) There will also be a runner up prize given to someone with the correct answer.

REMINDER: The Numisma-Quest ends on Saturday at midnight EST. Entries after that time will not be valid. See the Trivia info post for more details.

Good luck everyone and have a great weekend!

The $1 note is the only one that did not have the denomination (ONE) printed over the seal in the right, obverse field.

I will guess the $1 note is different since it is a silver certificate and the $5, $10 and $20 were all Federal Reserve Notes.

The $1 Hawaii Overprint note is a SILVER CERTIFICATE. It differs from the $5, $10, and $20 Hawaii Overprint notes which are FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES. :gossip:

A: The $1 note is a silver certificate, unlike the rest of the notes, which are Federal Reserve notes.
