Chief Running Antelope was a Sioux and became head chief of the Hunkpapa in 1851. His depiction of the note caused some ill will as he was shown as a chief wearing a Pawnee head dress as the original Sioux head dress was too tall for the engraving.

Chief Running Antelope. People mistakenly call this Onepapa but that's actually the tribe which is really Uncpapa band of the Sioux. The Chief pictured is actually Tatokainyanka.
