Q: Name the maritime, navigational aide featured on 1900 & 1902 $4 Dominion of Canada notes.

The face of the 1900 & 1902 $4 Dominion of Canada notes show the Sault Ste. Marie locks which connect Lake Superior and Lake Huron. The 1900 note shows the American side, which after some embarrassment, was corrected to show the Canadian side on the 1902 note.

The back shows Canadian Parliament Buildings and Library from Nepean Point which could also be construed as a visual navigational aid.... whereas the locks actually raise and lower the ships for the navigational passage ....
