- Grade Revealed - 1881-S Morgan

Recent pick-up. What is your opinion?

 

 

Tough to grade from pics at this level. It's an NGC/CAC MS67. The luster and eye appeal cannot be captured in images (especially mine). This slab is several years old and I believe it would have a shot at 67+ or 67* if resubmitted these days.

There are a few areas of the surfaces which appear to exhibit flaws. If they are minimal in each case, I could see the coin grading as high as MS67.

One of the cleanest and freshest Morgans I've seen in some time. MS 66-67. luster is blazing as well.
