He assisted Sir Ernst Boris Chain and Sir Alexander Fleming in making penicillin. He also was awared the Noble Peace Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

 

His other awards and honors include the Knight Bachelor (rank in the British honours system) and the Lister Medal.

Dr. Howard Florey who shared the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1945 with Ernst Boris and Sir Alexander Fleming for his role in the extraction of penicillin. His discovery are estimated to have saved over 80 million lives, world wide. His research team investigated the large scale production of the mold and efficient extraction of the active ingredient, succeeding to the point where, by 1945, penicillin production was an industrial process for the Allies in WWII. He was awarded many other awards and honors for his work and was regarded by the Australian Scientific and Medical community as probably it greatest scientist.

Howard Florey

he was a pharmacologist and Nobel Prize winner for helping with Penicillin.

Australia's longest serving Prime Minister wait that "Florey was the most important man ever born in Australia"

A: Lord Howard Walter Florey - Pathologist who developed penicillin.
