F.A.O. WORLD GOLD CERES MEDALS......?

3 posts in this topic

Does anyone out there have any information on early mintage numbers for F.A.O. (Food and Agriculture Organization) GOLD Ceres Medals, or where I can find more info on these very rare pieces. I have eight(8) of them from the early 70's and have some info, but not the exact mintage numbers. They are 22mm, 22kt. gold, and weigh 8 grams. They were minted in Rome, Italy, and include women who have been instrumental in helping third world countries grow food to feed their people. Indira Gandhi, Coretta Scott King, Angela Christian, and Olave Baden-Powell to name a few. Thanks in advance for any help. (I've Googled it to death:)

I can't help with the mintage figures but would love to see photos of the medals. Do you remember what you paid for these back in the 1970's?

I believe they are worth a bit more now!
