Please grade my roommate's coins

5 posts in this topic

These are from my roommate's small box of coins. I've got an idea of what they both grade, but just wanted to get y'all's opinions. The cent has a gorgeous woodgrain toning pattern, highlighted by the subtle neon greens and pinks you can see. Absolutely gorgeous.

I like the cent, but I think there's a hair too much chatter on the obverse to go 58, I'd say 55, but your mileage may vary.

Looks like the luster on the nickel is gone, but I don't think I see any real wear, just a weak strike - I'd be a little more harsh on her as well - maybe 50 with possible damage under the 3 on the dents and on that weird circle behind the portrait. I'm digging the die cracks, though.
