Don't listen to 'em, Keith. I love Monroes. And I like yours. They do not come well struck or without a lot of chatter much. Cool art deco design on the reverse. But, sigh, remember this is from a guy who loves Carvers and Booker T's.

The Monroe was the first commemorative I saw. My dad had a circulated example he pulled from change as a kid. I want to get one for my collection of California commemoratives, but I haven't found one with nice eye-appeal yet.

Shiroh tapped into the "beauty" of this coin.

 

I love the reverse- interesting concept. Like the engraver was on acid.

The obverse? -Not the Mint's finest moment!

The ripples were to show the currents of the vast OCEANS.The Human figures represent North and South America. Neat.

This piece is a real match for the Pilgrim I bought a few weeks back, and goes well with the BTW you sold me. I just need to get off my rear and ship an ANACS W-C with rainbowing to NGC soon, and I'll have a whole collection of cool toned commems going.

It's not a pretty design, Braddick, so I made sure to get one with enough toning to try to cover it up.
