Hi I’ve just got started looking at coins and I don’t even know where to start with this one. When I first looked at it I assumed it was just beat up but then I thought the L in Liberty looks like it’s on the rim. When I looked closer it looks like the letter “L” is not fully there but merely remnants and the “I” looks more like a blob when examined closely. It seems like more damage would show around these letters if they was simple everyday damage. Really I have two questions, fist, would someone experienced walk through their thought process on evaluating something like this or if it’s just something not worth looking at because of the condition? Second, beyond rarity and value I’m fascinated by the likely causes of these deeper gouges. Seems like a lot of force would be required for some of these and I just can’t come up with reasonable explanations on how coins (not just this coin) get damaged like this in everyday life. Did someone beat it with a hammer? Run over it with some type of steel wheeled vehicle? Washing machine with rocks? I can’t see this happening in someone’s pocket or in normal daily transactions. General wear I get but this seems next level. If there is an area that a more detailed picture would be useful let me know and I’ll get it uploaded Thanks

I am not sure if this penny is a mint error, post mint damage, or counterfeit.The diameter is larger than a penny but smaller than a nickel. It looks and feels like aluminum. The last photo is the questionable penny next to a normal penny.

Hi everyone, im new here so I need some advice. I inherited a large coin collection years ago and have been slowly selling them. I have so many, Id like to get the good ones graded. I have a full book of lincoln cents from 1909 - 1950s. I have a 1909 VDB, 1901 S VDB, 1914D, and so on. which pennies from this book would be the most important in getting graded ?

This is so far the BEST effort on 1982 D copper with D. I know that only ONE has been discovered with a real D mint mark clearly showing. Sold for some $18,000 or so. Please give a % chance that you feel that it might BE a D mint marks there...at times I see a entire Date Doubling under the real date in the video. Just trying to send in something worth-while the effort on both sides.

Heyyy Everyone!! How u? Im doing excellent. Quick question, and I'm so sorry if I'm not suppose to be asking mess like this...but....ive got a 1982 penny , no mint mark, its not in excellent condition but not too bad either.. can anyone please tell me if its worth any money like the amounts im seeing online?? And if so, WHO WANTS TO BUY IT LOL . I strongly believe we all are walking around with millions in our pocket daily and don't ever even know it. So hopefully this is my lucky day and this girl will be able to pay some student loans off and explore the world or something lol lmk guys. You're all awesome! Hi, my name is Gary, I'm a little nervous about posting, not sure I know what I'm doing. I have this penny, it's a little pitted and probably cleaned at one time. 1922 D reverse Die cracks, it weighs 2.99 gr. has more of a yellowish gold color and don't look like other cleaned cent pennies? I haven't or haven't thought about sending this coin in for grading because its clean and pitted but now, I'm thinking the alloy mix or planchet maybe of a different coin planchet?? Which may give it some value? I'm looking for some opinions or suggestions on what a more experienced collector would do with this coin? I like and want to keep it but I also would like to know what I hold, What do you think of the weight of this coin and color? Thank for reading this, any thoughts suggestions would be appreciated. 1972s BRASS STRIKE 1972s Brass Strike Error I am Baba Beck on You Tube.. Some ten years ago.. I prayed to GOD to help me and guide to what I can do in my spare time.. (Heavily into GOD already) My prayer was answered next day.. as I woke up and walked towards Walmart.. some folks were talking about some one SOLD a penny for 1.6 million Dollars.. and I heard and I asked again ..what.. they said YES.. like the penny's you find on the Ground... I went on RED ALERT and NEW World opened up for me.. again .. BY GOD choice. 3+ million views on just a handful of penny's I found so far.. some are worth Millions ... this ONE ..1972s is well.. I just want to show it and hear what the experts might think of it.. IT came out of BOX that got shipped from Washington D.C... lots of RAIN on the penny's for months. And box got broken and repacked. BUT I told myself I paid a $100.00 to have it shipped so I scrapped up all the LOOSE penny's corroded and decided to check ...towards the end of a mountain on my TABLE this coin came out.. and since I already have searched over a MILLION PENNYS via a magnifying glass..( found a few BRASS STRIKES including 1974 and more ) I new what fools GOLD looks LIKE.. I even weighted it and weight is lower than NORMAL and CLEAR indication of its BRASS!! I have several coins penny's that Need to be Certified by NGC that command a Premium. My entire collocation is for SALE of course for 3.7 Million Dollars ,.maybe NGC can HELP !! Face to FACE Sale only. I made this POST to make sure that other folks may VOTE on the 1972s possibly being what I THINK it is... BRASS... USA mint DOES not make BRASS cents but COPPER or Zinc cents. This would be a Astronomical ERROR on their part.. I feel. Please need your numismatic advise ... I am hoping this something that may command at least 5 figures on SALE !! I appreciate your voice and concern The Lincoln Cent is more wanted than GOLD or Diamonds in the USA. PLEASE.. Before I mail it FEDEX overnight to NGC.. I want to know what you think I found...its only fair and Good to do..even though what I might think. Hi all. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions that you may be able to offer. Firstly it may be important to state that I am not a coin collector (rare books I am slightly knowledgeable on but not coin u unfortunately). That said, my daughter recently returned from a trip to the US where she was on a modeling assignment. She gave my son some coins and as has become habit, I look through all coins to see for any interesting ones and came across a coin which has Lincoln (I assume it’s Lincoln) on one side and the other has a building (so it’s definitely a commemorative coin) and it is dated 1983 and a D. (Which I assume means Dollar?). I thought it may be in some way valuable due to the fact that the D. As far as I know represents “dollar” yet the coin itself says one cent. my question therefore is, could this coin be valuable, how much might it be worth if so and where would I go to sell it if valuable in SA pref)?

Well hello, mass of people who have a ridiculous amount of knowledge on a subject I am completely clueless about! Hopefully someone can help, I'm genuinely just curious. Don't worry, I'll make this long and boring, just for you! 😉 My mother just passed away. I'm planning a celebration of life service for her and I want the "theme" to be "Pennies from Heaven"... Tonight when I actually started going through my various change receptacles, I noticed a silver penny. I didn't think much of it but kept it to the side. There is no mint mark (I'm sorry, like I said, I'm clueless here so I hope that's what I was trying to say 😅) and it's from the year 1959. What has my interest so piqued now is the wildly different things I've read online about this particular penny. Some say it's rare, some say it's trash basically. So. If anyone would be so kind to assist, I'd be more than happy to provide more pictures (ignore my hideous nails and cuticles, the stress of losing my mom unexpectedly has made me do strange things) or whatever else I can. I just would like to know more about it. If it is in fact something special, then I would obviously like to incorporate it into the service for my mother. Thank you all so much in advance! 😘

Hello, Would like to know more about this coin. I believe it is a 1982 P small date penny. I found doubling on the reverse, more prominent on the 'One Cent' and on 'States'. Is this common find and should I send it in to get graded? Thanks in advance!

I have no Idea what I'm doing ,I've recently Gotten interested in silver . I have been saving change for a long time and I've decided to go through it and I've stumbled upon a few collectables we had laying around .While researching I've noticed ,So many people love coins and they have value over just spending it on things you need or want .I found this 1997 penny it jumped out at me due to its color on the front the back looks more dull but the front is very orangey red . I really don't know much about coins but I know this one is different and I've seen a few online now after googling it . I really would love any input on it and if its worth investing in it .Thank you so much for reading .Thanks Brian

I'm not sure what this is. I found it in a coin roll, and it has two pieces of the surface that look like they've been "peeled off" and kinda crunched before doing so. Underneath shows orange copper and the punch's detail is still shown. There's no extra damage to the coin or to the 2 pieces. Obverse and reverse have normal wear (no Knicks or cuts). Thinking it might be Occluded gas bubbles but it doesn't match any coins I've seen. There's a kinda straight line on bottom and a wavy top where I think it was attached to before it fell off.

I was going through my box of pennies from the bank and found this coin. I was wondering if it was an error from the mint and if it might be worth anything. I am new to all this so if it isn't anything special please don't hesitate to tell me I am a insufficiently_thoughtful_person. The penny seems to have been pressed too hard. Lincoln is visible yet flat. My father suggested someone may have put it in the press but the Lincoln side isn't pushed out, just distorted and the shield side has very little flattening which suggests it was in a flat press from a machine shop. I hope there is help that can be found here for me. I took as many pictures as I could, if a specific angel or view will help better please let me know. Thank you

I tried getting a clear photo for about a half hour and this is the best that I ended up with. Sorry! I'm not really looking to make money off of this coin. For a 1990 it's in pretty bad shape. And even if it is a double die, it's extremely light and hard to see. I'm just trying to get a third opinion because my husband said that while the mint mark has it, he couldn't really see anything on the date. If you look very closely, you can see the faint outlines of a second date struck to the right and slightly down of the first date (the swirls of the faded 9's curl inside of the other 9's). It's aligned perfectly with the second D mint mark.

I picked up only three rolls from the bank yesterday. Found this last night, and set it aside to take a closer look. Something just didn't feel right, edges are too sharp, Satin lackluster finish, calming eye appeal. If I'm not mistaken, I would say it's one of the Pennies from the mint directors estate sale in the early 90s wasn't it?
