  1. Thanks to everyone here for not taking advantage of my over-generous offer-- although I acted rashly trying to secure some quick funds, nobody stepped up on my offer so I listed the 2 kilo coins on ebay instead for a 24 hour sale. They sold for $1350 for the Koala and $1305 for the German Shepherd coin --so I sold them for $2655 instead of the $1550 I offered here. Thanks again to all of you honest folks for saving me from my own laziness.....

  2. Tomorrow morning 1/29/21 this opportunity will end. I will list these 2 items on ebay instead as they are now selling for around $1200 for these Kilo coins and plain silver kilo bars are nearing $1000 each every time.

At $27 an ounce for a 35+ oz coin that is around $950 melt value so you can see why I can only extend the courtesy of this offer for a final night.. I was hoping that someone here might profit from the deal instead of corporate giant ebay but I hope you understand that at $1000 on ebay I still will clear $900 instead of $800 even though I made their coffers deeper.. thanks for looking and maybe next time.....

  3. The wife and I are both in the healthcare field-- until this month we were both very busy at work and remained healthy. Recently we had 3 overlapping weeks of "contact isolation" as I had 7 of my 9 staff in my dept test positive and then 10 days later my wife'sdialysis unit had an outbreak and was shut down.

We both are fully healthy and still have our jobs so I am not asking for sympathy or charity as I know many, many have been hit much harder. Was just providing the reason as to why I'm listing a few items for sale to finish a tight budgetary month for us.

2018 Kilo "Year of the Dog" and a 2015 "Koala Kilo".. these sell on ebay for around $1100- $1400 ( the higher price BIN stuff usually has no bids but the auction ones sell around $1100).. The melt value is $800+ at $25 an ounce for the .9999 as bullion.....

I'll take $800 each or $1550 for both via check ( if I know you) or $1600 as paypal..

Longtime member with dozens and dozens of sales and trades here...

Just shoot me a private message or contact through NGC membership "Jackson"... first come gets them..

Also I have poured kilo bars $800 each-- Valcambi, Scottsdale Stacker, J/M etc.. let me know if you want a larger deal

  4. I do..what series do you collect? I have been getting modern proof sets graded for a while but only collect the $2 Polar Bear coins and the 10c Bluenose series.. I even have several proof 70's in my hoard...

For the right price I'd consider selling my entire $2 proof series-- from 1996 to present and even includes 4 Gold coins ( 1996, the $2 Nunuvat, the 2000 millenial gold and the white and yellow gold 2006 10 year anniversary coin) and the scarce/rare Pierfort large silver coin from 1996.. if interested I can fire a price at you..PM me

  5. I'm not sure that there IS a right place for this, so here goes.

All of the 2016 Journal Award Winner icons show the black X error instead of the the award icon...this shows up not just for me but also for the other 2 journal award honorees.... can the site architect fix this please?

Please refer my post to the proper person Ali. I know it is most likely a simple issue with the http thing ( IP, signature...whatever that numerical paste thing in the address bar is called, my brain's not working today)...thanks for the help.

  6. Hi Ali..I had sent you a long post explaining how mixed up the Canadian proof dime sets were ( you essentially have tried to make a seperate silver issue set when all of the coins since 1996 have been silver anyhow)...

Now it appears as if the contagion of adding mythical slots/coins or seperate slots for the same coins has spread....

The $2 Canada "Twonies" now have strange slots for plain " 2003 Polar Bear" and a second slot for "2003 Silver Gilt"...well ALL OF THE 2003 coins are silver with gold gilt center....( same with 2004 which you have also mixed up with added slots).. there is no need for seperate "silver gilt" slots !! All of the twonies since 1999 are silver with gold gilt center ( the exceptions are the coins where they use real 22k gold centers)

The 2003 and 2004 Twonie is the same coin as the 2003 and 2004 "silver gilt" twonie...

I've noticed that some of the slabs now have the word gilt on them and some don't--this, unfortunately, is just an error on NGC's part with inconsistency--as once again--there is only one type of metal content and issue for 2003 and 2004 Proof twonies...

If you look at the #1 ranked set--the gentleman actually has a complete set...you guys have made up redundant slots for the same coins but with different wording on the slabs..... ( same with the dimes--however with the dimes you have the first set correct and then some strange partial set creation of "silver dimes" which contains only those minted since 2000)

  7. To Whom it may concern---

You guys have been trying to get the Canada proof dime series straight for a few years--here is the not so simple series explained.

The series runs from 1981 to current.

The coins were made of nickel from 1981 thru 1995. ( the beginnings of your skewed info.)

The coins were made exclusively of silver from dates 1996** to 2011- 92.5% sterling to be exact.

**In 1996 ( along with the new mint proof packaging), metal content for the dime, nickel, quarter and half dollar was changed from nickel to silver. The set was a "Double Dollar" set with both the Loonie $1 and the John Macintosh silver dollar commem (1796-1996.)

There were also several commem dimes in the series (volunteers, Cabot, etc) but all of the commems were silver and were seperate so that many years had a silver commem and the silver proof from the double dollar sets--you've done an excellent job with listing those correctly.

In 2012 the Canada mint screwed with the basic silver proof set. (If you can imagine the Canadian mint expanding the number of issues it makes of each coin---heavy sarcasm)..For the first time there were 2 completely different proof sets issued. For a few years you could buy the silver proof set with the Silver Dollar Commem being either gold gilted or full silver surface--but all other coins were the same 92.5% silver--there are NO non-silver dimes between 1996 and 2011 !!

So in 2012 they now have a 99.9% silver proof set with fancy gold gilt on the Dollar, twonie and the cent. The half, quater, dime and nickel are all 99.9% silver also but no gilt.

However--- for the first time in 2012 ( and 2013) they issued a completely different second proof set--this one has a plain silver commem dollar, twonie and cent and the other coins are of the normal nickel proof from back in 1981 thru 1995.

So to summarize, the set should be just one single set still--you have created 2 sets out of one and broken it incorrectly by metallic content--which is erroneously broken down anyhow again-ALL of the coins from 1996 thru 2011 were silver proof dimes.

If you insist on splitting the set into varying sets it should be as follows::::

    Canada 10c Nickel Proofs 1981-1995

Canada 10c Silver Proofs -incl commems-1996 to current

    Canada 10c 2012-current non-99.9% silver

OR----- you could simply return the set to :::

    Canada Proof Dimes 1981-current

(and then add 2 slots for 2012 and 2013...one for each of the different metallic content)

Right now it is not only broken up erroneously with the silver dimes start date wrong on the second set...but the set from 1981 thru current is full of silver coins which can't be moved to the silver set.(and again there were no nickel coins after 1995 !!!)

I tried to keep the confusion down as much as possible ( and I've probably failed miserably)--but again, just make a single set for the series and add 2 slots each for 2012 and 2013 for the only years that they made the dimes of different metals...

  8. Again..beautiful proof merc schatzy. The flowlines make me think of the intro to Star Trek...or ( and you'll excuse my wife and I for being a bit geeky please) when we are driving in a heavy snowstorm at night, if you flip your highbeams on it looks like we're jumping into "warp 8"--then we laugh like kids..oh well, being geeky can be fun..

also, here's a crusty old gal ( all of my seated halves have the same look so far) PCGS XF40

  9. Ankur..just gorgeous coins, the $3 princess and the Flowing Hair $1--wow....

Coindude- I have a few of those old toned sets too that aren't worth the cost of slabbing but are too eye-appealing to part with...............

Attractive stone mountain too..great, distinct color

Elbezar, another dazzling SLQ..FH or not I think the strike looks almost nicer through the folds of the drapery and across the thigh..

Thanks for sharing your purchases e1, I love drinking them in--definitely eye candy for the collector :cloud9:

Here's a pretty find I bought today XF45 --seems about right for the grade...seller's pics so I'm just crossing my fingers that it looks this nice in hand when it arrives..
