I finally found a 1956 D I was happy with after searching over 3 years. Finally found one without old ugly brown and black toning. Someone else wanted it bad as I did but, I ended up with the winning bid. I way over paid but Im fine with that. Hard telling how long till I found another. This was sure a hard date for me where Im limited on places to buy from.

I'm pretty sure @Hoghead515 collects them too. Some may not realize they are the circulating dollars issued by the mint following completion of the Presidential dollar coins.
But the thing I think could have been designed better is the obverse. While I like the large Liberty figure, the top area is a little barren, as if everything was liquid and drained to the bottom.
I think they should have spaced things out better, and put the year and mark on the obverse like most of the other coins instead on on the edge. Like the Presidential dollars the year and mark are lightly punched incuse on the edge, which is the first thing to wear off or get gunked up.
I really like the innovation dollar series. Its a great series to collect. Espically great for people on a budget. I have all the proof and reverse proof sets so far except for 2023. Im getting ready to order them in a couple days. Had a good little run of bad luck past few months. I got to where I can start working on my collection again. Ill probably order them this evening.

My goal is to finish a couple sets and maybe start another one or two. Espically the quarter set. Also planning on upgrading a few that I rushed into buying when I first started. I got some ugly toners I want to replace.

I havent had much chance to get on here in a few weeks. Its been a hectic few weeks. 2023 was an ok year but, not as well as I was hoping it would be. I added a few to my sets but not a whole lot. The earliest part of the year was the best for me. Then later in the year everything kept going wrong and I didnt get to put any money into my collection fund. I havent bought the first coin in a few months. I have faith and hope that 2024 will be better. Im planning on trying to finish up my set of silver quarters this year. And maybe my 1967 SMS set of all ms67 cameos and maybe start on a 1965 or 66 SMS set. Id like to upgrade a few of my quarters this year also. And maybe start a set of either jefferson nickels or rosie dimes. I know I wont accomplish all those things but Im setting a few goals anyways. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I did get to add a few awsome tokens to my collection from around the places I grew up and my grandfathers worked. That was very special for me. Those werent as valuable of some of the coins I bought but they hold more of a sentimental value to me. I had a very good friend to gift me some to.

Until myself and @Modwriter started saving each and every one of them that we came across...
I got a pretty good little hoard of them myself. I pick every one I see out of circulation for some odd reason. I

My loupe is probably a bit much for most serious collectors. Its has 3 holes. A 30x, 60x, and 90x. The 30x is the biggest spot. I use it the most. I hardly ever use the 60x. Its a small hole near the bottom. Only time Ive ever used it was for close ups of the mint marks. Ive never used the 90x spot. Some may say the 30x is more than you need and it really may be but, I really like it. I use it for other things around the house also and its great for viewing coins.

Apparently so.

I am trying real hard to ignore posts like these, as the op should do.
I a little bit.

Looks like machine doubling to me also which is very common and holds no value.

I bought one when I first started collecting. I ended up throwing it away while back. It was a cheap one and I lost the charger. I ended up buying a nice loupe to replace it. Ill never own another. They are garbage for my collecting needs.

I would like to see them design issues such as animals, insects, types of fish, and things like that. Make series out of them. Instead of going back and and using designs thats already been done once already. Do something different. I know other countries have already done it but they can do versions with animals found in our country. Maybe 3 or 4 designs a year on 1 oz silver planchets. Maybe even do a run of reptiles. For example Id love to have a US silver dollar with a big copperhead or a whitetail buck. That would be a cool series to collect. Maybe have the same obverse and each reverse a different animal. Just a suggestion of what Id personally love to collect.

Ive wondered this myself. If its better to crack it out and send back in raw or let them crack it out? Ive wondered if seeing the previous grade has any influence on their second opinion. Ive got a couple Id like to send back in one of these days that look undergraded to me compared to others I have. Or they are close and the ones I compared them to are overgraded.

100% sure the mintage of any retro issue won't be anywhere near 10K, unless it's the DE. 100K is probably the minimum.
Including a 2017 bullion and numerous modern commemoratives as options is plain stupid.
Why is the Morgan and Peace dollar on the list?
A minority probably have noticeable interest, like the Draped Bust and Gorbrecht dollar.
I agree. I couldnt believe some of those listed were even on the list.

Be a good one for an album but I wouldnt have it graded.

Looks like someone was playing with a torch. Maybe a brazing tip or something. Seeing if they could melt holes in a cent. Dont know if thats what happend but looks like it to me.

I would spend it. Put it back into circulation. Its only worth face value. It has some doubling on it but its the wrong kind of doubling. It has the worthless kind of doubling known as mechanical doubling.

It is small date. Not worth sending in. The small date copper Denver is the valuable one. Finding one would be like finding a unicorn.
Its hard to go by the Ebay prices Dprince posted. Anyone who wants to can ask whatever price they want but it dosent mean thats what its worth. Many of the coins posted on there is not what the people posting them are claiming they are.

I finally got around to ordering the proof and reverse proof sets for 2023 earlier this week. Now Im caught back up. I wish they would have kept putting the reverse proofs in individual packaging like they done withe the first few. Made them more interesting in the packs with the fun little facts on the OGP. It was fun and interesting for kids anyways. Kinda ruined it putting them all 4 in the same case with no details that inspired the designs. Just my opinion anyway.
