  1. The normal coin is on top. Thanks again!
  2. I am seeing strands of hair that are thicker than usual. The bottoms of the flags are extended. The hair above, behind and in front of seems off. There seem to be some die clashes on George's neck that aren't matching up to anything. It just doesn't look right overall but I can't really explain it.
  3. This quarter looks abnormal to me. I was wondering if it is some sort of mint error or just worn out dies. Help appreciated! Thanks.
  4. I purchased it with a few others but it wasn't the one I was interested in. Just came with the lot. And it wasn't advertised as an error. I just saw three eyeballs instead of one and became curious. Thanks for the help!
  5. I was hoping someone could identify the type of error if it is one. Thank you!!
  6. Thank you and I will look for info on photography of shiny objects. Discounting this particular coin, are prooflike business strikes common? Thank you again. Much appreciated!
  7. Good afternoon everyone. I ran across this coin and it caught my eye because of the nice finish on it. I thought it was a proof until noticing the d mintmark. After looking even closer I thought maybe it might be a doubled die. I still am puzzled by what is and isn't considered notching. I found no information on any of the sites but thought it would be wise to check with the experts just in case. My questions are, 1- Is there something unusual about a business strike looking this nice? And 2- Are the offsets I see in isn't notches, or just common MD? Thanks a bunch in advance for your time and assistance!
  8. Yes. I checked variety vista and coppercoins but saw nothing. The upper right of the memorial was the main thing that I wondered about. Would that be considered a large or average die chip? Thanks.
  9. I haven't found a ddr listing for this coin. Could someone tell me what's going on at the far right upper column as well as the crossbar of the t in cent? Thanks!
  10. Yes, I thought it was a d as well at first. I just found one on coppercoins that looks similar, but there example is more beat up than this one. Hard to tell anything. Thanks for looking. Got my curiosity going.
  11. Good evening. I am trying to find out if this is a repunched mintmark but can't match it up. Has anyone run across this one? It looks to me as though it is encircled. Thank you.
  12. I understand. I thought perhaps it was struck on another coin and some remnants were showing through. Thanks for looking.
  13. Good morning everyone. I ran across this today and have racked my brain trying to figure it out. I have circled the areas in question. I think I am seeing letters and numbers in these as well as a possible second earlobe southwest of the normal one. Is there anything to any of it? I have looked at several sites but found nothing remarkable listed about this variety. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank in advance.
  14. Thanks guys. That explains it. So the images are there, just applied by someone? Wanted to make sure I wasn't just seeing things. I knew the coin was to beat up to be worth anything but my curiosity made me want to know how they got there. Just found another in fact. Thanks again
