  1. I know. It feals like every 2nd Indian Head in Europe is 1909 D. Do you think that one of them would make a MS 62?
  2. Hey guys, I got a further possibility to buy 5 Dollar Indian Head gold coins. I already have 2 nice pieces, but maybe one of the ''new'' ones is too good to sent them back. All of them had a price among 360 Euros. Would you take one of them as doublet? How would they grade? Here is a link to the luster: PS: Some of them have traces at the Liberty. They can be found at some slabed coins aus well: https://coins.ha.com/itm/indian-half-eagles/1909-d-5-ms61-pcgs-pcgs-population-3273-23110-ngc-census-6242-20681-ms61-mintage-3-423-560/a/131803-25455.s?type=NGC131803 https://coins.ha.com/itm/indian-half-eagles/1909-d-5-ms64-pcgs/a/1272-5793.s?type=NGC1272 https://coins.ha.com/itm/indian-half-eagles/1909-d-5-ms62-ngc-ngc-census-9882-10809-pcgs-population-9552-13797-ms62-mintage-3-423-560-all-proceeds-incl/a/131833-23640.s?type=NGC131833

  5. Thank you very much for your opinion. I think that this coin would be MS 62 or MS 63. It has a lot of luster and just a few scratches. The leak of detail at the obverse seems to be normal. All the MS 65/66 pieces I can find at the Internet have a weak strike as well. I think that this coin is much better than the average and I am happy to have it in my type collection
  6. Thanks a lot for your help! The mint luster is a good indicator for traces of harm. Unfortunately it very hard to show it. That is why I made a video. Does it affects your Opinion about the coin?

  8. Hey guys, how would you grade this nice Indian Head? I had a few ones in the hand now and I think that this one has still a good luster. It has more luster and less Details than the Denver mint type i posted a minuite ago. Unfortunately it is very hard to take photos of these coins :-( Greetings Alex

  10. Hey guys, how would you grade this nice Indian Head? I find it very hard to estimate their condition, beacause of everything is ''upside down''.GreetingsAlex
  11. Thank you for the many helpful answers. Because of the Rim Issue I sent back the coin to seller.
  12. Hey guys, here is my other 10 dollar Indian Head Gold piece. This is the most commun year and its price was about 850 dollars. What grade would you give to this one? Unfortunately it has a little rim dammage as well. Probably from falling into a container. Is it just a Details grade as well? Greetings feeverte
  13. Hey Guys, the point is that there are almost no ''serious'' offers for gradet coins in Europe. Most Dealers want to use the slab to sell a MS 61 or MS 62 ,,average'' piece for a very high price. I bought this one from a dealer I made good experiences with. He is the ''one man numismatic departure'' of a large german buillon trader. So neither the rawness, nor the price are as suspicious as it would be in the US. On Top of that the 1911 Indian in one of the most frequent years. Concerning the Rim you are right. It has a small dammage. Would this already give a details grade or just a 61/62? Are there any hints for hidden defects on my realstic pictures? Is there a large risk for a fake coin? Thank you very much guys!
  14. Okay, thank you! But which grade would you give to it? In Europe most coins are raw, so this is not a hint for hidden problems.
  15. Hey guys, I know that it is difficult to grade a coin by photos, but what is your opinion about this one? Its price was 750 dollars and I am not sure if I should take the coin or sent it back to the dealer. Greetings from Europe Alex
