  1. Yes you are correct, my question had ambiguity. I really was asking about UNC Silver Eagles vs all others in terms of attraction, value etc. Thanx for input
  2. What is the attraction of DCAM and Ultra Cameo coins in terms of price, value, and grade or is it just eye appeal and/ or personal preference ?
  3. Many thanks to all for the input. I started collecting ASE's as my first coins but I should have bailed out a few years ago. It is like musical chairs dealing with the mint LOL. I have some bullion bars but unfortunaly got into ASE's. I done chasing the yearly "ghost" ! I will go back to silver bars instead of ASE's. Thanx again !
  4. Hello coin guru's, hope all are doing well I'm little disappointed in the bullion market and thinking about dumping some ASE's to get other stuff. What are your thoughts about bullion prices and DCAM prices ? Does older DCAM years hold value better ? Thanx for your input
  5. Thank all for response. This friend is over 80 and has been collecting for 50 years but obvious his eyes aren't as good as they use to be but the issue is he says all coins that old would be dipped which is different from cleaning. I'm confused - I feel that dipped coins will be detected by TPG's ?? He's a good guy but I brought a 1928 Peace a couple years ago from him that he thought was a 62 but came back AU - cleaned. Lost 75-100 bucks after resale LOL
  6. My friend sent me the coin below and I was wondering if picture is good enough to if it was cleaned (I don't want to buy coin but we disagree on dipping and cleaning LOL) ? If not I will try to get better pictures. Thanx
  7. I agree, buyers are may be migrating from Ebay (some possibly) and GC and HA have a lot more action than a year ago which increases prices ; meanwhile they may feel the aura of auctions versus the craziness of ebay at times.
  8. Hello all, I was eyeing a 1952-D Carver on HA. It was a 66+ PCGS with CAC. I had done some research and BV 2600 and previous GC prices were between 1900 - 3200 for 2022 (in fact the 3200 was the Greg Bingham collection that I asked about in another thread because 6 months prior it sold as a 66) and HA previous sales were little older but in the same range. The coin sold for 4400 on HA. So the coins sold on HA and GC for 50% plus over BV within 2 weeks of each other. I haven't been actively looking at Ebay but since I lost both auctions due high prices, I found the coin for 1700 (same grade and can sticker) on Ebay. The only difference is all the other coins were PCGS and this was a NGC (which I perfer). Question: Do you think I was just in the right place at the right time (it apparently was on ebay since Nov) or does PCGS have a large undeserved premium price ; or maybe people don't use ebay and clientele is different on HA / GC. Thanx for input in advance PS: It seems there are more PCGS for sale than NGC for a lot of coins ? Thoughts
  9. Well that upgrade paid off for the seller. The coin referenced sold for 1700 (125% increase) more than it did 6 months with the 1/2 grade upgrade
  10. Thank you all for the great input Hopefully the pictures are viewable
  11. I noticed the same coin sold in July 2022 being back up for auction again this month with a 1/2 grade higher but it has same certification number. My question is : "Is this unusual that a coin sold, graded with 1/2 higher grade is back on the market in 5 months and does upgrades retain certification number ? PS: Coin was regraded by the same TPG and retained its "CAC" sticker. Thanx for any input
  12. Well the suspense is over-- I didn't win the 1934-S ; I was out bid by only 100 hundred bucks but I did have discipline / patience because I wasn't going over 50% of book with buyer's premium Thanx for all input - I really got a lot of good insight
  13. Sorry for the confusion. Eagle RJO is correct, I was working on Morgan but I was talking about key date in Peace set ( although I never mentioned it in this series of post). I didn't say but I can now its the 1934-S. My original question was a general question, not a particular series or coin. I should have mentioned it was a key date though. Thanx for all the input. PS: Don't judge me but I have a AU-55 already but I want a uncirculated set LOL -- Be gentle with responses
  14. I am looking for one coin to finish set. I really can't afford a MS 60-61 and the AU 58s are overpriced. What would an acceptable price be for a UNC. cleaned coin -- 50% to 75% of grey sheet / blue book, past sales or price guide ? I am justifying in my mind that before grading companies - it was common practice to clean coins LOL PS: Please remember patience is not my strong suit in my OCD mind LOL
  15. Well as I said I only expect to receive about 75-80% of what I paid - but part of that is me making slightly over price purchases to complete a set. Then I want to upgrade and I justify in mind that I'm cutting my losses by selling my upgrade LOL
  16. Seller's fee (12.9% last I checked unless its over 1000 and there will not be a fee); is only after coins sell , they site says after 2 auctions they send coin back to seller, but I've recently coins on for 3 straight auctions. I've been using them many, many times upgrading sets ; plus they ship coin to buyer. Ebay is a hassle with seller's fees, shipping cost, disgruntled customers wanting something for nothing lol. I was told that HA requires 5,000 minimum ???? I'm a GC fan especially for selling.
  17. Thank you, that's what I was thinking that it wasn't worth it I did it once with 2 coins hoping to get over 1,000 which means you don't pay seller's fee. One coin was much over 1000 so I didn't need to spend the extra money and one was under by 50, and therefore I spent 15 bucks for nothing LOL. Thanx again for all the comments
  18. Happy Holidays to all, Thoughts or experience on "added services" to coins being sold on GC. My coins will yield approximately 400 to 600 dollars per coin ( based on previous auctions). Here are the charges per coin : * Bold Title- 2.00 * Highlight listing via search results- 3.00 * Featured Homepage presence: 10.00 (for only 5 days of auction) Thoughts, feeling, on these services ? Thanx

  20. Thank You VKurtB, about a year or so you told me in a thread " that I had more money than sense (cents)" and that has stuck with me - especially when I get that itch for a particular coin, grade, mint mark - I'm learning patience and saving my sense.
