  1. I hope your coins are well graded and swiftly, safely mailed/delivered to you...I personally would be stressed but what even stresses me more is the Return Mailing...I swear, I just can not sometimes deal with some issues with the USPS, Registered Mail...I could go into detail but being an honestly sincere with the postal people helps. I can't sometimes get over the transit journey our beloved little disks take.....I'm sure we all have those stories. Also I'd like to share...when my coins are held up it changes lifestyle a little bit and what a bummer. (was also thinking what if some coins people had were going to Registry, re-grade or raw...and the entry deadline was missed because of hold ups, etc....Damn..

  2. My U.S. Submissions have always moved fast...not out of Country but the U.S. Coins, those out number the World Coins by quite a bit every month due to more collectors and the U.S. Mint products being graded, run of the mill stuff, but this last few months World Coin Submissions are important to me this time. Patience is key...Also, being an Elite or Top Tier with NGC helps, in my opinion, along with discounts, especially on large 100 coin order or more there a bulk savings. Also, if you message or call they have ALWAYS taken care of things and explained reasonably. I know its easy to be impatient (myself included) but Patience is key....

  3. I currently have for World Coin Submissions as follows:

1 World Modern NGC received 07/07/21, 1 World Economy received 07/07/21

7 World Modern NGC received 07/28/21, 4 World Economy received 07/28/21

2 World Economy NGC received 08/07/21

Subsequently I have not contacted NGC yet...Majority of Subs are in Grading Quality Control or Encapsulation...

Within the past 20 years the opportunity to acquire some truly unique and Rare Coins that were in certain collections was occurring while the Run up in U.S. issues were taking off. Varieties I should mention in this focus, with that also comes the Joy in knowing myself and maybe a dozen others care. Maybe more people are into it now, the Central American and South American Coins, really enjoy learning and searching about and for them...

I wanted several of these submissions to be completed earlier but then I also remembered to double check that certain ones were shipped together by my choice, so...with that said...Yes, a couple of mine might be overdue? I have not confirmed that yet. Really excited about the Canadian Coins in there too...1947 1C Both Blunt and Point 7, Should be an Extremely High Grade 1980 Mexico Peso Closed 8 (Mexico Mint), Not sure what will happen with the 1984 Costa Rico Colon....I'll post a Picture or two...

Pray everyones alright and stays Healthy.....Covid things stress me out and yeah, you know...

My coin collection and the generic silver are ultimately their own very separate animals with different purposes, but I view the stack as a hedge or alternative savings more than as an investment.

This is the same way I am. My coin collection has a different purpose and the silver, gold and platinum Bullion is like a hedge but more an alternative savings...I also like to use it to fund numismatic purchases when makes sense...I enjoy Bullion error coins too though...

  5. I think it's a difference in the Short Set, lots of hype for generally good eye appeal coins...vs.... ie early dates and differences in collecting.  San Francisco in Higher Grades, including coins not mushy or soft struck will command big bucks...that said, the 1947 should be reasonable in MS 67. Where those asking prices or confirmed sold? A rather larger number of 1941 Walker Proofs were for sale at several sources...over half I noticed have been sold. Too many reasons to think why some price like they do.  A dealer friend mentioned that he was getting busy and met with 2 new couples in one week, just getting into Silver Bullion, Gold Bullion. Back to your 1939-S...That is a huge difference...

I'm sorry the feeling that I had is coming thru. Private citizens. Machines. There in the system and getting beat up. I will never figure out the logic in these profgrams. I hope you get ine. Thanks. Mike

The scars it bears will be an indistinction and testimony to where it has traveled, who held it and most importantly the feeling I'll get when I snatch one in the wild knowing its at least worth a few bucks and then I'll start building rolls of them like a sick freak....to be con'td...

P.S. this thread is activating my coin dependency

  7. I have looked if I see any quarters but I haven't actively searched yet. Not sure when I will freak out on them? At first I felt I wanted an enormous amount of them....then only a few highest graded and looking absolutely Gem really good strike one...now I'm not sure...funny, but I know if you ordered a $50K Ballistic Bag from the Treasury there on Top Nice and Uncirculated for your collection OR resell...

Maybe I'll wait till it just happens....back in change only collection?

Yep.  It's Faustina the Younger......from my experience, she's responsible for a lot of Roman eye candy :).  The coin itself is a silver denarius, roughly the size of a US or Canadian dime but the high relief and the other aspects of the dies and striking make it look like it could be a larger coin.  In addition to being absolutely gorgeous, most of Faustina's coins seem to have been very well made.

Good deal...I think I'm gonna look into her...maybe acquire a lower grade specimen and study it, then I'll respect the better coin more when I upgrade having learned something I hope, Ancients is not my strong point.  I already have 7 coins I'm serious about, just haven't prioritized it yet....

Thanks!  She's one of my newest additions and one of my favorites.....I love Faustina the Younger's coins.  They're some of the most beautiful Roman coins and they're really accessible.  She's one of the most common empresses to find coins from.....which is likely because she was no shrinking violet.  She definitely shared the power with her husband Marcus Aurelius.  But that doesn't mean that finding quality pieces isn't a challenge.  My new Faustina the Younger project is a real labor of love and I'm striving for quality, so thank you so much for the compliment! It means a lot!

Interesting, I've seen some pretty nice ones before but I couldn't remember her name. It looks like a larger or heavier piece but I could be wrong.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm new here and I don't understand that we collect coins we like. Now I have been collecting for twenty five years  I'm older than most. I put together a set very rare 19 tokens 223 years old all MS red brown and P.L.. What I was trying to say those better if than allot of us can put great sets together. That's fine if I could I would do the same. There is nothing wrong with that. I don't understand that we can win prizes for collecting coins we like. So am I buying to win or because I like a certain set. That's all. Thanks Mike

The coins I buy and another buys the same, etc...the competition for the best coin that everyone wants...those with the Funds or Equivalent trade get the PRIZE. They Win they're Coin....it's just a competitive nature and if by means you mean we collect what we like and others do also then the rating system (points) come into play and build the rankings....you buy to win or because it's worth points or both reasons....I know many who won't compete but would score very high if entered...At 25 years collecting you said, I think you would have an un alienable feeling for certain reasons go round the coin market as it does....

There are definitely very nice sets being built outside of the Registry.  One area where I think that this is definitely widespread is among ancients.  I myself have decided to stop Registry collecting but that certainly doesn't mean that I'm buying coins of lesser quality because of it.  I'm still buying the best I can find and afford.....here's just one of example of some very nice coins that I've purchased recently that aren't going anywhere near a grading service.

    NewFaustiConcordia.jpg

Good characteristics and detail strike on that Ancient. Planchet shows some lamination but from strike or something...I like your coin.

  12. Can not there sets be just as nice as those  competing.

yes, many chose not to compete and have nicer coins...

So we buy coins because we like them or they help you win something.?

I would imagine you would have to somewhat like coins to be involved. It depends on personalities, some won't sacrifice quality and others don't care..

Right now you can win prizes for submission to the grading network...and the prestigious awards...

  13. One thing I don't understand do we collect the coins we like it are we now doing it for an awards.? I'm confused that's not hard for me.

I look at the Registry as a place where my Finest Coins that I want others to know about all get together and compete.

Having coins among the Finest Known is an AMAZING thrill...lower the mintage or number known adds to the excitement, for me.

I never competed before but I always went after the very best I could afford...and then some.

I am into my own box of 20 competition right now...

  14. P.S. When the Govt. shutdown, people could not even make it 2 weeks. Most employees had to find another job. Now what's wrong with the Federal Reserve Banking (private) System in this country. They say no to minorities funding projects or Caucasian business investment but we're the top bidder for paintings that go in the St. Louis Fed bank at around $100,000 to $360,000 a pop...and that's what a defector whistle blew...what we don't know about Huh?

You bring up a great point. We're not in good shape. Twenty three billion in debt and everything is still going up in price. You can't blame that on coins. The Treasury Department turns a profit every year with the mint. So I can understand a change but not get rid of anything. Thanks very much . Mike

It's crazy, the bankers interest on our National Debt is getting larger every Day. They hold our leaders by strings. Remember...."give me control of a nations money and I care not who makes the laws".

They steal our wealth from us...check this out...and this is controversial...during the depression and now certain people think FDR was Great? He allowed the bankers to steal Americans wealth. Took our Gold then raised the value. Allowed bankers to steal the rare dated coins and errors when we turned in the money. Then put the same poor people back to work for sloppy soup food or a dime/quarter a Day. Then placed regulations on their earning abilities all while we built the corporations dams, buildings, offices and things the crooks now call home? Yeah, he was great, depending on which side of the table you sit at.

I am not anti-Government. I just feel like we are going to be headed for some tough times, look, everyone is in debt now. No savings, and when the Feds allowed the crooks in New York to handle Sovereign Retirement Funds....read Martin Armstrong) you know how that's gonna end...I truly believe we are going to be using gold and silver in commerce some day...people are scared, even the dumb ones are trying to get gold and silver bullion...what day you Sir?....peace

The Canadians do not round up any transaction involving debit/credit or similar things.  If you buy one single item using cash in Canada, you will suffer the roundup.  If you buy a whole grocery cart (two or more items) using cash, then the final price is rounded up.  Your $.99 Cent candy bar becomes a $1 candy bar when you use cash, your $189.54 Dollar Costco purchase become 189.55 if you use Cash.  So the hyper inflationary trends you referenced are dampened considerably and since most transaction in the USA are done without actual cash changing hands, then we should have a similar dampening effect as long as we use the same protocols.

Éirinn go Brách....Did you know we Irish have fought for the U.S. in more wars than any other Nationality....Peace Brother...

  17. "We have to work on a budget"

Uh...the United States has no budget. We are growing the national debt every hour, becoming more in tangled into the London Bankers Web of Deception.

"What happens to the truckers and railways that deliverd these gone."

As far as the Railroad, they will still function...there is only one way to haul the Heaviest Freight and at a constant speed...Union Pacific Mainline protected by the Dept. Of Defense for several reasons.

"If you buy something for 1.99 be ready to pay 2.05"

Your Exactly Right about that, the amount of Money rounded up can cause a hyper inflationary environment, very dangerous to eliminate the Cent.

"Tell me what happens to those with families who get laid off"

It's very difficult, we've had to Survive before and do without till better jobs were earned, many sleepless nights, coin collecting put on hold, many coins sold...life deals some bad hands Brother.

I feel your Pain. I understand what you're saying..it's hard to stay positive. New designs should be in place...always...

It seems tougher these days as I blame the Bankers...the next time they mess up...and they have been...we will pay for it. The bail in...ie, negative interest rates is spreading from Japan like a virus...

I see the Day when Gold and Silver coins will be used in commerce again...bad money always pushes the good money out....peace

enjoy collecting my Canadian coins from 1959 to 1989......those are already

Very cool! I always wanted to own a goose that was doubled you know the famous one with the even rarer PL examples, very few, out there. They are on the silver dollar I think. It's in flight...facing left? The story about it is awesome too!! Beaver nickels my Dad used to give me. I always think of him when I see one. I was so young and was just mesmerized to have another one to add to my collection. I kept the only 2 varieties out of all of them and parted ways with the rest....a grown man in 2015 holding on to the sack seeing visions of Dad and a tears forming in my eyes as I just couldn't let go but had to move forward like a solider in battle. The young kid and his dad in Texas were happy to buy them, cheap and it was huge step for me spiritually to move on.
