  1. NGC can change the rules however they see fit... and it seems they did. I have my 1909 set (all PCGS coins) listed on NGC just to share the set with more collectors. Don't really care about the competition, though it was fun to be recognized as having a top set for several years. Now that my set is worth zero points to NGC, I don't care. As long as fellow collectors can check it out and enjoy it, that's what matters most. However, if I understand it correctly, if I upgrade/add any more PCGS coins to my set, I will not be able to update those changes on the NGC Registry, even if they are worth zero points. That is disappointing and makes zero sense to not let us share coins that are worth zero points in their game anyways. Would have made much more sense to not grandfather in our PCGS coins and remove them entirely.
  2. Very cool, thanks for sharing! Always wondered what these glass pattern cents looked like

  4. I bought a few... I really liked the 1909-o Morgan Dollars he made several years ago and still have several of those in my collection. Missed out on getting the 1964-D Peace Dollars, but may have to hunt one down now that I'll have the 1964-D Morgan Dollars. I have no problem having real Morgan Dollars w/ altered surfaces in my collection

  12. Hello everyone, Earlier this week, I started up a Facebook page for my coin business. I know many of you use Facebook and if you don't mind seeing a few new coins a week and some info about upcoming shows every so often, then I would appreciate you "liking" my page. Link to my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/kittlecoins I still plan to post updates of new purchases here on the forum when I add a group of coins to my website, but if you follow me on Facebook you may see something a bit sooner or come across something you miss in my other posts here. I don't expect to sell much (and perhaps nothing at all) through Facebook, but I think it will potentially be a good resource to expose new people to the hobby and educate more folks about numismatics, particularly the younger ones. As an incentive for you to check out and to "like" my page on Facebook, I will be giving away one of our one ounce silver 2015 Glendale Coin Club medals struck by Daniel Carr to one of you who like my page. Since I may not be able to track your name here vs. your name on Facebook, if you want to be in the drawing for this prize, please send me a private message after you like the page. I'll select the winner by random draw a week from today, on May 4. Thanks again for looking at my posts here and thank you in advance for your support with the new Facebook page. And if you don't use Facebook, you can still see my coins on my website linked in my signature line below. Mike ...and here's a pic of the prize:
  13. I like that, spoken like a true dealer... the coins have no market value, but I'll certainly take them off your hands
  14. At first, I thought it would be neat for Dan to strike silver versions of the 2016 dime, quarter and half in silver and/or clad since the Mint is only doing them in gold. I'm sure they would sell very well. However, in thinking about it more, probably not a good idea to go down that path as it would certainly break Dan's rule of not striking fantasy coins of dates that already exist. The 2016 dimes, quarters and halves will all certainly exist as the Mint is striking them this year in gold. Producing them in a different metallic composition isn't quite different enough so I doubt it'll happen. That said, the centennial silver rounds Dan made up with these designs are really neat and are good enough for me!
