Received my two lots from the recent Baldwin's sale, both are brilliant and more red in hand.
Middlesex Clerkenwell D&H 147 - Addington Palace
Middlesex Clerkenwell D&H 155 - The House of Lords

Great looking token Yarm, love the die fatigue! Not surprisingly I have an affinity for farthings!
-
This makes 51 counties that I have at least 1 Conder token from. This DNW auction had examples from several rare counties that you hardly ever see at auction. I bid on another 1 token county lot but it looks like I was the under bidder.
-
Yep! Another 1 token county taken care of.
While D&H list this token as Scarce I only have 1 previous reference to this token appearing in an auction - the R. C. Bell sale by DNW in 1996. Probably should be RR at least.
-
Looks like I won the following token from today's DNW sale - looks like it will cost me a touch more than $300. Anyone want to take a whack at identifying it?

New tokens from the latest Davisson mail bid auction:
Middlesex Spence DH 707
Middlesex Spence DH 708
Middlesex Spence DH713
Middlesex Spence DH 776

Very nice yarm!

Just arrived today - ex. Robbie Brown sale by DNW last year.
Hampshire Gosport DH #2

How can you not love that mining scene! Great taler

Won this one today on eBay - looking forward to its arrival (Sellers pics)
Edit: A Yorkshire York #69
I was the underbidder on another token from the same seller - a very nice looking Middlesex Hancock #332 - the same type of token that MJ posted here the end of February.

The answer to your trivia question would be the Crown token - Nottinghamshire #1
Smartypants!
So what token would be the next lower denomination?
That would be Warwickshire #2 - which is the same as your #1 except the words AND SIXPENCE have been mostly wiped off the die. A much harder to find token! The three sales I have recorded of #2 all state that the token was silvered.
-
My latest Conder-Warwickshire 1 in copper.
Conder aficionados - What's the only token in D&H of a higher denomination?
Very nice, clean Warwickshire #1 I have two of these but not as nice, one in copper and the other in brass.
The answer to your trivia question would be the Crown token - Nottinghamshire #1

Nice jetons!
On the engraved piece, apparently St. Wilfrid built a Benedictine monastery and church (St. Andrews?) and Hexham in Northumberland in 674.

Congratulations RareSov!
Well done.

Received this one in the mail on Monday - nice and safe in a NGC66BN suit!
Herefordshire DH 5:
Just won this one tonight (sorry Conder101!). Not quite the same grade as above
Middlesex Pidcocks DH 1071:
One of these is quite common, the other quite rare. I'll leave it to you to determine which is which.

Good to see you over here FilthyBroke!
A well hammered coin!

Nice grouping of Conders, HiHo! I was intrigued by the Lincolnshire Spalding 5
because of the ghostlike appearance of the small ship in the center. It seemed odd
given that the AU58 piece presumably has only a touch of wear. I dragged out my
Linc 6 which used the same die (according to D&H) and laid them side by side.
Take a peek at the ships, particularly the small ship in the center. Anyone know
if this is something to do with the state of the die or might the strike be affecting the look as well?
I just looked at my Spalding 5 and while it is not in as nice of condition as either of HiHoAudios' or yarms' (mine is in EF condition) mine also has the 'ghost" effect on the small ship in the center. Interesting.

Nice tokens HoHoAudio!

My latest - arrived today enclosed in a NGC 58 BN suit. The token has more red around the devices and lettering than my 2.5 megapixel camera can ever show.
Middlesex Hall's advertising penny - D&H #26 It features Sir Jeffery Dunstan, mayor of Garrat - a knock-kneed dwarf and an interesting character to read about on the web. Thomas Hall was a taxidermist and curiosity dealer who operated his shop at 10 City Road near Finsbury Square. As stated on the reverse: The first artist in europe for preserving birds beasts &c.

Too bad you don't have an 18'th century Lowestoft to show in comparison.
I have one, but it does not compare to yours in quality.
-
yarm - great piece!
I thought you said you weren't going to buy any pieces out of the Baldwins auction? I've seen the pictures you have been adding to your photobucket account and I'm jealous!

Just a guess JohnReichFan but the HS is likely the mintmasters initials. Including the mintmasters initials on coins was not unusual in the past.
Here's my win from this weeks Baldwin's auction. Catalogued as Middlesex Political and Social Series #226 and is an election token for the MP seat from Winchester between Admiral Gardner, Charles Fox and Horne Tooke. Charles Fox won and both Fox and Admiral Gardner were elected from Winchester.

3 more of my farthing purchases at the Congress.
Middlesex Spence D&H 1095a Ex. Cokayne, a nice RB token.
Angusshire Dundee D&H 39bis. Another ex. Cokayne collection, nice chocolate brown.
Angusshire Dundee D&H 41. Again, ex. Cokayne and a nice chocolate brown with a die crack running through the reverse.

Beautiful tokens yarm!
Here is one of the farthing tokens I picked up at the Congress. A Middlesex Spence D&H 1099. Ex. Cokayne, ex. Norman sale in 1903. My best image to date of a token.
