Two Conders and one Isle of Man switch teams - Breaking out part 6
Three tokens that have come out of the closet and switched teams.
Just a short note about the new insert that NGC uses. I don't like it. It's great to see the rim but it seems to take something away from viewing the coin itself. Conder token number one was a FTGS-MS63 RD and came back as a NGC-MS63 RB. I'm fine with that as it was only about 90% red. Would have been nice to have a 211 year old red token. The second token was a FTGS-MS64BN Suffolk D&H-1. Came back as a NGC-62BN Suffolk D&H-2 1/2 penny. I knew when I sent this to FTGS that it was a D&H-2 but think they were gone when I went to send it back to get corrected. NGC took it down 2 grade which I think is harsh but what's there to do. NGC has on the label that it's a 1/2 penny. The edge has Doulbe Token on it and D&H lists it under the 1 penny token listing. Oh well, small detail. The Isle of Man token is a 1831 1/2 penny KM-TN21. It was in a NNC slab as MS-62BR and I almost sent it back claiming it was at best a AU-55. I didn't and decided to break it out to have a better look at it. Once out of the slab it looked a bit better and I was thinking it could maybe be a AU-55 or MS-60. I sent it in and now it's a NGC-61BN. I've just sent in some more ANACS slabs of Irish coins for the switch so looks like there will be a Part seven and now that I think of it I have a nice 1928 Ireland proof set to send in. That could be part 8. Will this ever end?
