2017 Goals

Going To Finish Some Sets Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas. I got some proof sets from family members, to add to my collection, so I was very happy. Christmas Success

A little early... As you know, I am trying to get some of my cousins' kids interested in coins. I sent my cousins Sonia and Claudia each a proof set, an album for holding 2x2s and Sacagawea folders, in addition to $5 worth of cent rolls. I didn't wrap the cents and they tore through those trying to fill holes in the folders I got them this summer. Everything else was wrapped and they will open those Christmas Day. My cousin sent me video and pictures and they seemed legitimately excited.

Great Week At Work

Found some great coins Good morning, everyone. So as you know, I work at a bank and enjoy the amount of cash that I have access to. This week was particularly fun. On Tuesday, I had to open a box of nickels, so I opened the flaps and looked at the coins at the end of that roll. Nothing. 2012 Proof Sets

Did I miss something?! I was on Ebay shopping for Proof sets for my Goddaughter and her sister. Her sister was born in 2012 and proof sets are going for $100+ Did I miss something? Opinions, please

I'm puzzled.... Good evening. I have this bill sitting in my vault at work and it is puzzling me. The bill is not crisp from a pack, but is not in bad condition. It has a line where it appears the ink never hit. I thought it was a crease line, but in looking at it, I can't see at the top or bottom where a crease reaches the edge. Spreading the Numismatic Word

Gifts for the young I am SLOWLY getting caught up on numismatic gifts for my cousins' children. Is not quite big enough..... When I was in middle and high school, back in the 90s, my Dad and I went all over Texas, visiting baseball card shows. I collected cards back then, but we really got into meeting Hall of Fame players and getting autographs. It's Been Awhile

Time to redesign our coinage Hello everyone. I wanted to see if I could get your support for a change to our coinage. As President Roosevelt did in 1907, I think it is time to redesign our circulating coinage. The $10 bill is going to feature a woman in 2020, but it will share circulation with the Hamilton $10 bill. Slow Week At The Bank This week at the bank, I wasn't able to find much. I got four wheaties and nothing else. I did find out however that my Operations Specialist collects a bit also. Co-Workers, First World Problems and Other Things

The last few weeks So, I've determined that the worst time is the time between ordering a coin and when it is delivered. The F.U.N. convention! I have been talking about going to the FUN convention fod a few years, but have never pulled the trigger on it. Update on my coworker

I've created a monster! As you all know, I have gotten one of my co-workers hooked on collecting. In a way,I have hurt myself. I was in the vault room and he comes back with a "cat that ate the canary" grin on his face and tells me to guess what he just found. It turns out to be a 1928 $2 bill. An observation, some additions and a rant. An update on my coworker. I caught him picking through the quarters in his drawer during downtime. He is working on the album I got him. I think he's hooked. I told him to let me know when he found a Wisconsin Quarter and I explained the extra leaf varieties to him. I also told him about the Hawaii overprint notes. Whittling Down

America The Beautiful Quarters

Hit or Miss? I was at work yesterday breaking down a box of quarters. I always like to look at which coins are at the ends of the rolls, really identifying with the State Quarters, because the Florida quarter is what got me started in coin collecting. Brand New Set

For a Brand New Nephew I just found out that my first nephew was born about an hour ago, so I started a new set called Texan's Nephew's Type Set. I Finally Did It!

My Commemorative Half Dollar set will soon be complete. I received my last paycheck from my job today.
