Competitiveness vs. Common Sense

When is it the right time to throw in the towel? How do I get myself into situations like this? And how am I able to come out of them in such good shape? I've been a casual coin collector for most of my life...about 30 years now. However, its only been in the past couple of years that I've become a serious collector. Actually I consider myself more of a collector/investor now. After all, someday my coins will be liquidated for some reason and I'd hate to learn (or my family to learn) t

System has CHANGED, Part II

All seems well until January 1. I spoke to an NGC customer service person yesterday and received a separate email response this morning. The new tier--Modern-Special--will begin to be enforced on January 1. They will accept the order as I submitted it last week and I will get the 20th Anniversary Pedigree. Thanks NGC!

System has CHANGED!

I hope the System still WORKS As a follow-up to my two earlier postings (titled "System WORKS" and "System WORKS, Part 2"), I received three additional 20th Anniversary ASE sets from the mint on December 21. System WORKS! Part II

Very Quick Turnaround from NGC on 20th Anniv. Sets To follow up my earlier posting, even though the turnaround times posted by NGC were 17 business days, my two, 3-coin 20th Anniversary ASE sets were Finalized/Imaged/Shipped on October 24 after having been Received on October 20. If you don't count the receiving day or the shipping day, that's just ONE business day to do the job. Remarkable! The six coins earned one MS70 and 5-MS/PF69's, as well as the correct Black labels. I'm no dealer.

System WORKS!

No mint order problems, no delivery problems, no pedegree problems. I ordered two of the 3-coin SAE 20th Anniversary sets online within the opening hour. I started trying right at noon and my order was accepted twenty minutes later. I received the coins in the mail on October 16 despite the fact that my order status on the Mint's website never indicated a delivery earlier than December. Following the special submission directions posted on the NGC website, I completed my NGC invoice online an
