About this journal

Friends,

As of first ---- 15 years ago or so we had a FRIENDS list available on our member home page.  A few years ago the FRIENDS were changed to FOLLOWERS by the NGC group.

Now there is not even a followers list on our home page.  Is this Followers list coming back?? Seems the club is moving more and more towards unsocial practices.

Use to be a member could post their journal from their private member page. Now they have to go to Chat Boards to do so. I don't mind it but I know that many members do not use the chat boards. Will there be a link later to post journals from the member page?

1952 Proof Set

My Franklin Failed considerably!!! Friends, As I sent in the 52 Proof set due to what I thought was a PF66 Franklin and a SUPERBIRD Washington I missed on both points. After the milky haze was removed from the Franklin by NCS the rough details showed and the Cameo obverse was gone. However I still got a PF63 which I believe is the lower of populations but still a value of $175 and a temporary hole filler. Other grades: 1c = PF66rd 5c = PF67 10c = PF66 25c = PF65 I will be start

1949 Mint Set

NGC blew me out of the water on 1 coin Friends, The grades were just as I thought on most. The 5c got a nice grade of MS66 The no mint mark 10c got a grade of MS66 The S mint mint mark 10c got a grade of MS67 The 1949-D dime that I thought would be a keeper was the only bad choice as it came back MS64??? I must have really missed something. Over-All not a bad investment on grading and I sure hope the Roosevelt submission does a little better. I leave you with a pic of the dime tha

1817 Bust Half Dollar

O-K Folks here is my latest puzzle Friends, I went to the Gold store to pick up a few gold pieces. I grabbed 2-XF $5 pieces = 1894 and 1900. I also got a XF $10 piece from 1882. Then I was handed a mystery. I will show you very soon a 1817 Bust half. This coin had something on it previous to minting. Check over top of the date and you will find the raised letters from a past coin running from under one side of the bust to under the other side. I have tried every angle but still can't read i

11 more days

Waiting on my 30 day grades. Friends & Community; If you remember I sent in a submission that turned around in a week (amazed), I still have a 30 day submission out there that finals the coins (except 3) that I have purchased this year. I finally have a local coin show ( 1st annual ) that I will not miss and will probably join the club (Anderson area coin club). I sure hope I get my grades before I attend the show so I know which coins are still needed to complete the full set. I

1/2 oz. Gold First Spouse

Of the group that I have. I like the look of this one!! Friends, I don't have the full set of first spouse gold coins. Of the ones I do have I like the look of the Mint State coins more than the Proof coins. This Jefferson pic here with the wavy hair and the soft texture flow seems to look the best out of the group I have even though it is not the rarest. Enjoy---Rick To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

#

Pics of your muscle cars PLEASE!!! Friends, I know this is a coin hobby club but recently # had the decision to sell coins or muscle cars to upgrade his 1879 mint set. Of course he was smart in the decision and kept the cars. David, I would like it if you would post a pic of your favorite car or two that you own and a list. It would be a COOL journal and others may like to see as well. Thanks----Rick To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added b
