1960 LARGE DATE 1C

Variety Diagnostics

Early in 1960 the U. S. Mint created a second master die for the cent having a taller, slightly oval 0 in the date and long-tailed 9 and 6. This reduced filling of the 0, which was a problem with the Small Date cents.

Comments

The Large Date variety comprises the majority of 1960 proof cents and carries no premium.
