Peter Anthony: The 1998 5 Yuan silver Panda makes an odd couple with the 1 kilo weight silver Panda with which it shares the same design motif. This little coin should not be ignored, however. It is the top candidate for the title of the key coin of the entire 5 Yuan silver Panda series. It is very difficult to find and has been that way for many years despite a published mintage of 200,000. When available the coin is usually found in nice condition.
