United States Mint to Launch 2010 Lincoln One-Cent Coin in Springfield, Illinois

Invitation announcement from the United States Mint; new coin features "Preservation of the Union" Design.

The public and media are invited to the official launch ceremony for the Nation's new Lincoln "Preservation of the Union" One-Cent Coin, which features a redesigned reverse that will appear on one-cent coins from this year forward. The coin's reverse design is emblematic of President Lincoln's preservation of the United States of America as a single and united country. The event will take place at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum on Thursday, February 11, at 9:30 a.m. Central Time (CT). Children 18 years and younger will receive a new 2010 Lincoln "Preservation of the Union" One-Cent Coin to commemorate the event.

The United States Mint will hold a Coin Forum on Wednesday evening, February 10, at 6:30 p.m. The Coin Forum is an opportunity for coin enthusiasts to meet United States Mint Director Moy and ask questions about U.S. coinage. The event will be held at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library (multi-purpose room), 112 N. Sixth Street, Springfield, IL, 62701.

* A minimum purchase of two rolls and maximum of six rolls of coins bearing the new 2010 Lincoln "Preservation of the Union" design will be in effect for the coin exchange. (Limits are subject to change.)
