Senior NGC graders Mark Salzberg and David Camire will perform free evaluations at the Mish International showroom on November 22. The showroom will also host a special lot viewing event for the upcoming Champion Macau, China Auction. Be sure to schedule your appointment soon!

NGC’s Mark Salzberg and David Camire will be at Mish International’s Menlo Park showroom on Saturday, November 22, to perform free evaluations for the public. Mish International will also host a special lot viewing event for the November 2014 Champion Macau, China Auction, which features a number of extraordinary NGC-certified vintage Chinese rarities.

Mark Salzberg, the chairman of NGC, is widely considered to be one of the world’s foremost grading experts. An NGC grader since 1988, Salzberg has graded many of the world’s most important vintage US rarities, including the 200 greatest pieces in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Numismatic Collection. In his role as NGC’s chairman and its most senior grader, Salzberg has played a central role in the standardization of today’s highly precise grading scale and the promotion of numismatics around the world.

David Camire serves dual roles as an NGC Finalizer and the president of Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS), an independent affiliate of NGC. Camire is one of the world’s top experts on modern Chinese coins, professional numismatic conservation, mint errors and the minting process. He has consulted for the US Secret Service, the Smithsonian Institution and the United States Mint.

"As NGC is the world's most respected independent numismatic grading service, we are honored to host two of their most noted analysts of coin quality and authenticity," said Robert Mish, President of Mish International. "The Silicon Valley is famous as the home of the world's most successful technology, venture capital, and social media companies. We are not surprised that a growing number of people here are discovering the scholastic fulfillment and investment potential of rare coins. It is natural that the history, art, culture and technology of 2,500 years of world monies would appeal to this well educated sector. The November 22 event will give them an opportunity to network and meet the NGC experts who finalize the grades of their prized rare coins."

During the evaluation event Mish International will display NGC-certified lots from the Champion Macau Auction to be held November 30 in conjunction with the Macau Numismatic Society show. Among the sale’s highlights is the legendary 1900 Peking Restrike Set formerly in the collection of famed author Eduard Kann. The set includes a 5 Cent (NGC MS 61), 10 Cent (NGC MS 61), 20 Cent (NGC MS 63), 50 Cent (NGC MS 61) and Dollar (NGC MS 61), and has an estimate of $250,000 to $500,000.

We have worked with NGC to have it certify the only three Chinese numismatic rarities to exceed one million US dollars at auction or private treaty sale. Two of these great rarities will be on display at the Macau Numismatic Society show, November 27-30."
