NGC CERTIFICATION LABELS

NGC Standard (Brown)

NGC’s standard brown label for all US and World coins. This label is used for all submissions unless otherwise noted below. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

First Releases^® (Blue)

All US and World coins received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within their first 30 days of issue are eligible for the First Releases blue label and designation. This includes bullion, currency and numismatic coinage issues. All coins include the text FIRST RELEASES within their description on the label. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

Early Releases^® (Blue)

All US and World coins received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within their first 30 days of issue are eligible for the Early Releases blue label and designation. This includes bullion, currency and numismatic coinage issues. All coins include the text EARLY RELEASES within their description on the label. Label is available in single and oversize versions. Effective 1/1/2012, this is the default label for coins received within their first 30 days of issue.

Details Grade (Purple)

Coins with detrimental surface conditions receive this purple label. This label is applied automatically for all NGC grading tier submissions. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

NGC Ancients

Coins struck in the Western World from the origins of coinage through c. AD 500, as well as coins of the Byzantine Empire (AD 491–1453) receive this label.

100 Greatest US Modern Coins

Available for coins featured in 100 Greatest US Modern Coins. The attractive black and tan NGC label boldly shows a coin’s rank adjacent to the standard NGC certification information, including description and grade.

100 Greatest US Modern Coins 2nd Edition

Top 50 Most Popular Modern Coins

Available for coins featured in Top 50 Most Popular Modern Coins. This label features the red star and “Top 50” from the book’s cover. This label requires a special request.

September 11 National Medal

Available for the September 11 National Commemorative Medal issued by the US Mint. The label features the obverse image of the medal with the US flag waving in the background.

First Spouse

A special label for First Spouse Series gold $10 coins and bronze medals. This label is applied automatically, and there is no additional service charge. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

Presidential Dollars

Presidential $1 coins label. This label is applied automatically, and there is no additional service charge. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

America’s National Treasures^®

Available for the America the Beautiful Quarters, including the 5 oz coins. This label is distinctive and patriotic, featuring a full-color design emblematic of the phrase “America the Beautiful.” Label is available in single and oversize versions.

Lincoln Series

Available for the 2009 Bicentennial Lincoln coins: 2009 Lincoln Commemorative Dollar in Proof and Mint State and the 2009 Bicentennial Lincoln Cents in Mint State (both circulation and mint set or SMS issues) and proof issues. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

First Year of Issue

For use with US Mint first year of issue coins. A first year of issue is a coin from the first dated year of a new design type. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

Saint-Gaudens Ultra High Relief

2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle. This label features an enlarged rendering of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’s monogram as it appears on the coin. This label is automatically used for all submissions of these coins and does not require special request.

San Francisco Mint

Available for all US coins that feature the “S” mintmark of the San Francisco Mint. The label features a stylized “S” reminiscent of the mintmark used on coins struck at this collectible mint. This label requires a special request. Available on Modern Special tier submissions only.

Eagle 25th Anniversary

Available for coins in the US Mint sets commemorating the 25th anniversary of the American Eagle coins. Coins from these sets will be pedigreed as EAGLE 25th ANNIVERSARY SET.

Eagle 20th Anniversary — Blue Label

Available for coins in the US Mint gold sets commemorating the 20th anniversary of the American Eagle Bullion Program. Coins from these sets will be pedigreed as EAGLE 20TH ANNIVERSARY. Label is available in single and oversize versions.

Available for coins in the US Mint’s limited edition two-coin platinum set commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Platinum American Eagle Bullion Program. Coins from these sets will be pedigreed as EAGLE 10TH ANNIVERSARY.

Canadian First Gold Coins

Available for the 30,000 Canada 1912 to 1914 $5 and $10 gold coins released by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2012 after being stored in the vaults of the Bank of Canada for 75 years (both premium hand-selected and hand-selected). Available on World Express tier or higher.
