1876 TYPE 1//1 T$1

Variety Diagnostics

This coin has the Type 1 obverse paired with the Type 1 reverse: the banner inscribed LIBERTY ends in two points aimed west, Liberty's right hand has only four fingers, and a bud appears within the eagle's left (viewer's right) claw.

This combination of obverse and reverse hubs is reported for proofs. If it does exist, it is quite rare. The photo of the reverse is from another date.
