Description & Analysis

While its quarter counterpart has earned the respect of advanced collectors, the 1856-O Liberty Seated half dollar is often referred to as one of the more common silver issues of the late 1850s. With a sizeable mintage of 2,658,000 pieces, this conclusion certainly holds true through the lower Mint State grade levels.
