Description & Analysis

The 1850 is an important condition rarity among early Seated Liberty Half Dollar issue, being far more difficult in all grades than its rather modest production of 227,000 pieces would suggest. Only a few dozen Mint State pieces are believed to survive and the quantity of Gems can probably be counted on one hand.
