Description & Analysis

This final issue of half dimes from the New Orleans Mint enjoyed a generous mintage, and examples are plentiful through the grade of MS 64. Most are reasonably well struck, though all half dimes of this type are subject to occasional weakness at Liberty's head and foot, the lower part of the shield, the mintmark and the upper left of the wreath.
