Description & Analysis

1850 O half dimes are scarce across all grades, due for the most part to their exportation and melting as bullion. Mint State survivors are in great demand.

Three different mintmark sizes are known for this issue: the Large O (photos) and Medium O varieties are the ones most often seen, and the Small O is quite rare.
