Description & Analysis

Though the San Francisco Mint received six obverse dies and two reverses for this, its first coinage of dimes, it appears that just a single pair was used for the small resulting mintage.

Not surprisingly, this issue is rare in all grades, with Mint State examples extremely so. Typically the few such coins are quite well struck.
